Last week DCC had a great opportunity to visit the Royal Danish Air Force on Baltic Air Policing in Šiauliai.
It is the seventh time that Denmark has contributed to the mission, first time being in 2004.
As Denmark has provided augmentation of the NATO Air Policing mission from Šiauliai by sending four F-16 fighter jets from Skrydstrup Air Base located in Southern Denmark, we had a chance to watch their practice flights which was indeed an unforgettable experience!
We also had all of our curious questions about the F-16 fighters answered by Thomas F. Baunsgaard - Danish Detachment Commander. Afterwards we had a very informative and interesting presentation made by Danish Detachment about how they are carrying out this rotation of the NATO Air Policing Mission in the Baltic states.
The first DCC Board Meeting outside Vilnius was held at Baltik Vairas in Siauliai. Our board members Jan Hyttel, Niels Tybjerg, Laimonas Markauskas, Simonas Petrulis, Vilma Jarašiūnienė and Vilmantas Ladyga together with Director Greta Vaitekunaitė were there to meet our members and talk about DCC future plans and perspectives.
Baltik Vairas has been operating since 1948. The company exports top-quality bicycles all over Europe. We say a huge thank you to Žilvinas Dubosas for hosting us and telling us interesting facts about the largest bicycle and e-bikes manufacturer in Northern Europe.
Thank you everyone who joined us!
