Responsible business conduct is becoming more and more relevant for Lithuanian companies as both consumers and employees value not only the price of company's goods and services but also the company's reputation and activity under certain conditions: whether the company does not violate and does not contribute to violations of human and workers rights, bribery, environmental violations, etc.
The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (Guidelines) is the only internationally recognized responsible business code that addresses in detail the standards of responsible business conduct. The Republic of Lithuania together with other 48 members of the OECD and Non-OECD members, confirm that the Guidelines best reflect the principles of responsible business and encourage companies to apply the Guidelines as widely as possible in their activities. As Lithuania became a full member of the OECD, the implementation of the Guidelines and the application of responsible business conduct has become even more relevant and important.
